Valla introduced a new 8-tonne capacity electric pick-and-carry crane

Valla, a long-standing manufacturer of specialized industrial mobile cranes worldwide continues its program of totally-new product introductions. Following the release of the new Valla V70R at Bauma, Valla has now introduced the new 8-tonne capacity V80R electric pick-and-carry crane.

The new fully-electric V80R shares many of its features with the V70R including full radio remote-control, front-wheel drive and outstanding pick-and-carry capacities. Critically separating the V80R from the competition are its remarkably compact dimensions! Overall width of just 1.4m is best in class and similar-to or smaller-than cranes in the 5.5-6.0-tonne class, allowing much heavier loads to be handled in tight industrial environments.

An 80V, 560Ah lead-acid battery with automatic water refill provides the power for the 4.2kW electric motor driving the front wheels with their large-diameter 250-15 ins tires. White non-marking tires are also available. Maximum gradeability is an impressive 14-degrees and travel speed is stepless from 0 to 6 km/h.

The twin 23×9-10 ins rear tires offer a 180-degree steering angle for a rear tail swing of only 2.8m. Outstanding lifting capacities are achieved by the very strong three-section full-power boom. With a class-leading steep maximum boom angle of 70-degrees, the V80R offers heights to 9.4m with lifting capacities of up to 2.5-tonnes. The maximum forward outreach from the center of the front tires is 5.5m with capacities of up to 1.8-tonnes. The boom also offers negative angles of up to -10-degrees – especially useful for customers requiring the optional self-leveling fork attachment. For increased reach, a 3-tonne capacity 2m long hydraulically-offsetable jib is offered. Maximum lifting capacities are achieved by deploying the hydraulic crossbar stabilizer which is supplied as standard equipment.

The new V80R is also highly-transportable thanks to its outstanding performance: weight ratio. The standard 2.6-tonne counterweight is easily removable, reducing the GWM of the basic machine to as little as under 5-tonnes. The new V80R from the company that invented industrial telescopic boom cranes!
