Introducing Liebherr at Hillhead 2016

Liebherr has something for everyone at Hillhead this year. The range of machines on display includes wheel loaders, including the new generation of XPower wheel loaders, bulldozers, quarry specification excavators, a refurbished material handler and examples of Liebherr’s concrete technology.

Liebherr machines
Liebherr’s new generation of XPower wheel loaders will be out in force. The L 566 XPower wheel loader will be on static display. Its big brother, the L 586 XPower wheel loader, will be working on the quarry face. Not only is it the largest machine in the XPower range but, with more than 32 tonnes of operating weight, it is Liebherr’s largest wheel loader.

Following its launch at bauma 2016, a new PR 726 Litronic bulldozer with 6-way blade and newly-developed undercarriage will put in an appearance. Powered by a Stage IV/ Tier 4f emissions standards compliant 4-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine, this 6th generation machine includes cab innovations from larger machines of its generation and benefits from Liebherr’s SCR technology with no DPF required. Equipped with LiDAT, it features proactive power control and an electronically-controlled drive management system with integrated ECO function. This dozer can be configured for industrial applications and will be offered in a special version for landfill sites.
The ever-popular PR 736 Litronic crawler tractor, complete with a straight blade, will be on static display. Its many attractive features include low fuel consumption even at full load thanks to the constantly high efficiency and electronic power limiting control and the hydrostatic travel drive, which gives the PR 736 enormous power at any travel speed.

The R 950 SME and R 970 SME will be on display alongside a number of other fuel efficient hydraulic excavators including an R 956 from Liebherr Rental that will be in action on the quarry face. All three machines are powered by a Stage IV/Tier 4 final Liebherr diesel engine and use SCR technology, removing the need for a DPF or regeneration.

Highlighting the work undertaken by Liebherr’s workshop team at its state-of-the-art facilities in Biggleswade, a refurbished R 924 HDSL material handler will be on the Liebherr stand. Anyone who has seen this machine can’t believe it’s not brand new and we will be offering visitors to the Liebherr stand the opportunity to guess the hours on the clock for a chance to win a scale model of the L 566 XPower.

Concrete technology
See an example of Liebherr’s HTM 704 truck mixer, which like the LTM 804 and other Liebherr truck mixers is also available in combination with a conveyor belt. These machines are made individually to meet customer specifications and have numerous optional extras. Intelligent electronics enable them to deliver considerable fuel savings and they are highly cost-effective thanks to a long service life, a result of features including the high-grade components with which the drive train and hydraulic system are manufactured. In addition, the mixing drum of a Liebherr truck mixer has exceptional wear protection because of the LH 37 grade of steel used, which is particular to Liebherr.
Also on display will be a stationary concrete pump, which is robustly constructed for maximum output with all moving parts highly wear-resistant and easily replaceable.
Liebherr will be promoting its new Mobilmix 2.5 mobile concrete mixing plant graphically. Unveiled at bauma 2016, the Mobilmix 2.5 can be up and running within two days and has a state-of-the-art twin shaft mixer that makes it comparable to a static mixing plant in terms of performance. Compared to its predecessor, the Mobilmix 2.25, output capacity has been increased by 10 m³ to 110 m³ per hour. Liebherr has optimised a few details and customers can expect even greater efficiency, shorter cleaning times and less wear.
