Weycor AR 250e now available with optional high-speed version 50 km/h

The serial production of the large wheel loader from Atlas Weyhausen started in April 2017. Equipped with a water-cooled, six-cylinder Deutz TCD 6.1 L6 diesel engine with 169 kW (218 HP) and a maximum torque of 900 Nm, the weycor AR 250e fits right into the wheel loader series. The maximum-load regulated, hydrostatic drive with pressure cut-off and closed-circuit acts on all four wheels.

The travel range of the AR 250e with standard tires is 0-14 km/h at inching speed and 40 km/h high-speed version, from now on, an optional 50 km/h version is also available. It is possible to shift between the 1st and 2nd hydraulic gear and between forward and reverse operation while under load.

These functions are controlled using the weycor joystick. The drive system is controlled via the accelerator pedal and a separate inching pedal for optimal distribution of the hydraulic power to both propulsive power and lifting power. Atlas Weyhausen is the only manufacturer that offers a separate inching pedal. Unlike a combined braking/inching pedal, this separate inching pedal eliminates the risk of inadvertently activating the main brake. As a result, there is less wear and lower fuel consumption.

The main brake is a multi-disk brake in an oil bath that acts on all four wheels. A supplementary brake functions via the inching pedal and hydrostatic drive and acts on all four wheels. The parking brake is designed as a negative brake with a spring mechanism design and also acts on all four wheels. When the engine is stopped, the spring-loaded brake is automatically activated.

The standard 20.5 – 25 EM tires are construction equipment tires with improved traction and good self-cleaning for use on relatively soft ground. Other tires are available on request. The operating pressure of the hydraulic system is 280 bar, and the delivery rate is 190 l / min. The variable displacement pump for the loading and steering hydraulics is controlled in such a way that a priority valve favors steering. The loading hydraulics are pre-controlled and are activated by means of the weycor joystick, including a latchable float position. The 1st and 2nd control circuit are standard.

In the case of the loading equipment, Atlas Weyhausen relies on the powerful and solid Z-kinematics with high tear-out force. All functions are activated by means of the weycor joystick. The shovel return to the excavation position is automatic and the shovel is locked for road travel pursuant to German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). With the new weycor AR 250e, the times for the working speeds can be seen: Lifting 5.6 sec, lowering 4.0 sec and tipping 1.6 sec.

The weycor AR250e is characterized by its fast easy maintenance and upkeep as a result of centrally consolidated, easily-accessible service points. A fuel capacity of 250 liters ensures longer operation, hydraulic oil capacity of 140 liters is available for power development, and a motor oil capacity of 16 liters ensures that the engine has a long service life.

Options include air-conditioning; fold-in, external rear-driving mirror; heated rear window; activation of all functions using the weycor joystick; vehicle lights pursuant to StVZO; front and rear working lights; windscreen wipe and wash unit in front and rear; step-lessly adjustable and telescoping steering column; control lights for engine oil pressure, engine overheating, hydraulic oil temperature, battery power, parking brake, and air filter; and finally, the central dashboard with indicators for preheating, engine temperature, fuel level, and working hour meter.
