EC206, the fourth Generation 2 model from engcon

Engcon, the world-leading manufacturer of tiltrotators for excavators ranging from 1.5–32 tonnes, is now ready to commence series delivery of the EC206, the fourth Generation 2 model, on the Nordic markets. Over time, the model will replace today’s EC05B. The main EC206 innovation is its 6-channel swivel.

The EC206 is specially adapted to suit excavators in the 4–6 tonne range and rounds off the Generation 2 series that includes big brothers EC209 (6–9 tonne range), EC219 (14–19 tonnes) and EC226 (19–26 tonnes). Among other major innovations, the EC206 model is equipped with a 6-channel swivel developed from a completely new design, and which has also been fitted with two NG6 valves – the same valves used on the larger models – to handle greater flows to and from the extra connections, for example. What’s more, the EC206 boasts a 45 degree tilt angle, integrated central lubrication, increased bushing sizes and greater ease of service.

“Generation 2 is engineered entirely to suit the new generation of excavators, which place completely different demands on technology and material quality than earlier machines,” says Fredrik Jonsson, Design Manager at engcon. “Because today’s excavators are so technologically advanced and extremely strong, equipment has to keep up.” Fredrik Jonsson comments that operators of the other Generation 2 models appreciate many of the new refinements, especially the integrated central lubrication. “Indeed, we’ve had a fantastic response to the factory-installed, integrated central lubrication system. It saves time and money at the equipment workshop, and contractors get to keep their new machines in great shape,” says Fredrik Jonsson. Series delivery of the EC206 outside the Nordic markets is expected to commence at the end of 2016.
