Takeuchi premiered the all-new TB 220e lithium-ion battery excavator at Bauma 2019

Takeuchi, a global innovation leader, along with their German distributor Schäfer, showcased Takeuchi’s newest models and technology at the largest construction machinery trade fair in the world, the Bauma. The highlights were the TB 220e, all-electric excavator, and the TB 370. These two models have been in development for a while, and have never been on display before.

The TB 370 comes standard with a mono boom (optional: 2-piece boom), tilt-up cabin, an 8” color touch screen display plus jog dial controls, and a 42.4 kW engine that delivers superior performance and attachment handling. As the first model of Takeuchi’s new generation line-up, TB 370 has completely new automotive styled interior with intuitive user’s operation, 270˚ view monitor, and bucket operation angle selection device which allows the operator to switch the bucket angle between 125˚ and 195˚ without getting on/off the machine.

The TB 220e is the latest model of Takeuchi’s lithium-ion battery line-up. Takeuchi is a leading company in lithium-ion battery excavator since we introduced the world’s first fully electric hydraulic excavator at Intermat 2006. TB 220e comes standard with a 25 kW battery that delivers the same performance as the TB 216 diesel version. It has a spacious operator’s platform that features pilot-operated joysticks and multi-informational display.

„Takeuchi is excited about displaying at the 2019 bauma trade fair. It’s a wonderful opportunity to show our new products and introduce visitors to our product line,” said Akio Takeuchi, President of Takeuchi. „Bauma gives us the chance to connect with and listen to our customers, and doing so is key to our success: We incorporate that feedback into each and every Takeuchi product to ensure the build quality, performance, and value is unmatched.”

Founded in 1963, Takeuchi has led the way in new product development and introduced the world’s first compact excavator in 1971. In 1986, Takeuchi developed and launched the first compact rubber track loader that was ideal for rough-terrain operations, another world first. These two products have transformed the global construction equipment market.
