Carmix 3500 TC to install EU Stage V engine as of July 2020

In July 2020, the flagship model Carmix 3500 TC is equipped with an EU Stage V engine. Introduced by EU Regulation 2016/1628, Stage V engines aim to further reduce gaseous and particulate pollution emissions from diesel engines and LPG engines on non-road mobile machinery (NRMM). According to the EU Regulation, earthmoving machinery with engines of between 19 and 56 kW and over 130 kW not complying with Stage V standards may be manufactured or imported up to 30 June 2020.

Conversely, the deadline for production or import of earthmoving equipment with engines of between 56 and 130 kW not complying with Stage V standards is 30 June 2021. For this reason, Carmix decided to replace the engine installed on Carmix 3500 TC from a Perkins 1104 D-44 TA Turbo-Diesel Tier 3, with a rated power of 83 kW (111 HP), with the European version of Perkins 904 J-E 36 Turbo-Diesel STAGE V Tier 4F, with a rated power of 90 kW (120 HP).

Low environmental impact and high technologic performance
Following this new adjustment, Carmix 3500 TC will become a “green” off-road mobile concrete batching plant, reducing emissions for environmental protection. A benefit that comes along with a smart design, giving the operator unique comfort and innovative technologies, all in a powerful, versatile machine: from the batching unit with a material yield of 3.5 m3 to the double mixing screws, from mixing and discharge speed independent from r.p.m. of the diesel engine to the discharge by reversing drum. To this is added the Joymix-controlled 600-liter loader with a hydraulic door discharging sand or gravel directly into the drum; and finally, the ability to travel on slopes higher than 30%, even under full load. Each of these elements is a precise response to the needs of construction operators: a commitment Carmix has kept for over 40 years on five continents.

Concrete-Mate, the mix design manager for blends and materials without errors
Carmix 3500 TC is equipped with Concrete-Mate, the innovative mix design manager including an RMC Plant standard level management software which, using four sensors in the mixing unit, guarantees a top-quality concrete mix complying with international concrete production standards (UNI 206-1 – ASTM – ACI, etc) and complete control over production costs. Up to 15 different mixes and 99 types of materials can be selected with Concrete-Mate, allowing the production of multiple combinations of materials, fitting any worksite requirement.

When the software has stored a mix design, it suggests the operator the dosage of each element, the sequence of operations and the working time for each process step, thus eliminating any chance of error. Concrete-Mate can prepare concrete on-site, offering a top-quality product, ready to be used anywhere, at all latitudes, rapidly and timely. Its quality is confirmed by the Legal for Trade certificate, an accreditation certifying the superior accuracy of Concrete-Mate in all countries where these strict procedures are in force, such as Europe, Australia, Canada and USA.
