Hyundai introduced the new HL975 wheeled loader at SaMoTer 2017

Hyundai introduced the brand new HL975 at SaMoTer exhibition, in February. The HL975 has made its world-premiere at the show. The new addition to the Hyundai range offers the very best in wheeled loader technology.

The robust HL975 has been engineered to Hyundai’s high standards and designed following thorough research amongst operators world-wide asking what they expected of the next generation of wheel loaders. The result is a tough new machine with outstanding power and performance.
The new HL975 has an operating weight of 26,500kg and at the heart of the new machine is the very latest Stage IV Cummins QSG12 engine with a maximum gross power of 250kW at 2100rpm (net power 247kW). Higher efficiency air handling and advanced combustion enable the QSG12 to return to the simplicity of a wastegate turbocharger without the need for a cooled EGR. Combined with a DPF, Stage IV emission levels are reached.

The true value of the HL975 machine is its power – this is evident in tough working environments. With the high-strength design structure and enduring system proven by rigorous tests at various work sites, Hyundai’s wheel loaders can perform any high-load work to maximize productivity. Durability of frames and attachments have been enhanced by 1.5 times compared to the previous generation 9-series.
In addition to being more fuel-efficient – the new HL Series (which includes the HL955, the HL960 and the HL980) has many other environmentally friendly features. Automatic shutdown of engine prevents unnecessary fuel consumption and emissions. The HL Series turns off the engine when it enters into an ‘idling’ state. Operators can select operating mode and ‘idling’ time depending on work environments which improves its efficiency even further. The optional five Speed transmission with Lock-up Clutch on this machine also aids fuel consumption depending on the working conditions.

The ECO Gauge feature enables consistent economic operation through frequent checks of the machine’s operating state. The ECO gauge level changes colour with the engine torque and fuel efficiency level. In addition, it monitors fuel consumption, such as average rate and the total amount of fuel consumed which are displayed on the monitor. When operators use the accelerator pedal, the ECO pedal, which comes as standard, can distinguish between economical operation and power operation and recognises the economical operation which in turn reduces the fuel consumption. The HL Series also feature a ‘travel speed limit control’ where the operator can limit the maximum travelling speed within a range of 20 to 40 km/h to suit diverse working conditions which improves operational effectiveness.
By selecting the H-mode, the ICCO (Intelligent Clutch Cut-off) will be engaged for minimizing the loss of power on torque converter. The ICCO restrains generation of heat that improves overall fuel efficiency. The Hydraulic Lock Differential has the advantages of both improving productivity and less fuel consumption by preventing tire slip during the operation.

New cabin, more comfort
Silent, safe and comfortable, the 10% larger ROPS/ FOPS new cabin with fully adjustable seat provides an ergonomic working environment that offers the ultimate in comfort for the operator.
The new cabin is fully sound-proofed using state-of-the-art noise reduction technology which ensures maximum silence when working in noisy environments such as quarries or waste handling depots.
The new air conditioning system maximises heating and cooling performance by optimising air flow through the cabin. The electro-hydraulic integrated control lever allows operators to operate attachments with ease which in turn enables greater productivity and minimises operator fatigue.

Hyundai’s ‘Infotainment’ system
The HL975 is optimised to enable operators to access accurate equipment data in quick time. This feature is of importance when working in tough environments to improve productivity.
The intelligent seven-inch touch wide screen monitor is like a smart phone display and is larger than the previous models and is easy to read. The Audio System, which includes a radio, has an integrated Bluetooth hands free feature, and a built-in microphone allowing the operator to safely take and make calls when in the cab.
The ‘Infotainment’ system also allows the operator to enjoy the Miracast system which works via the WiFi of the operator’s smart phone and enables easy use of the smart phones features on the big screen including navigation, web surfing, watching videos and listening to music.

Electro-hydraulic (EH) Controls
The new HL975 has joystick controls for boom, bucket and 3rd hydraulic line as standard. All the models in the HL Series can also be fitted with joystick steering as an option.
Soft end stop
Touchscreen monitor and EH controls allow several new features like ‘Soft End Stop’, bucket priority and boom bucket detent mode, to be controlled through the touchscreen. The ‘Soft End Stop’ delivers – when an attachment reaches the end of a stroke – a ‘shock free’ operation by reducing the speed of the attachment near the end stroke. This function can be disabled through the monitor should the operator not want to use this function.
Accurate Onboard Weighing System
All Hyundai HL900 series models include Hyundai branded onboard weighing system as standard equipment. Accurate to +/- 1 percent, the system has automatic and manual settings for monitoring individual and cumulative bucket load weights. System measurements are displayed on the multi-function screen in the cab, providing load-weight monitoring reliable enough to support production management.
Improved bucket fill factor
Hyundai’s improved bucket design features an innovative wider opening, curved side plates and enhanced spill guard to maximize bucket capacity and minimize material loss when travelling. Durability is also enhanced using high wear-resistant steel in key structural areas of the bucket.

Ease of maintenance – electric retractable engine hood
A flick of a switch is what it takes to gain complete access to the engine compartment of Hyundai’s new wheel loader – a new feature not seen before on the previous range of Hyundai wheeled loaders. The fully retractable engine hood allows easy cleaning and maintenance.
The HL Series has a large-volume air cleaner, an automatic dust ejector and a three-stage intake air pre-cleaner, as an option, to improve the replacement cycle and durability of the air filter. The machine also has a fully sealed engine room, designed to prevent the possibility of fire caused by the inflow of ‘foreign materials.
The new wheel loader is also available in XT version (larger dumping height).
