Kubota has unveiled a new eco friendly excavator at Plantworx 2017

Kubota displayed its brand new mini excavator, the KX042-4 at this year’s Plantworx show in Leicestershire. The 4-tonne machine is the most environmentally friendly excavator in its class. The new machine has been on show alongside many other Kubota construction, tractor, groundcare and engine products at the show.

The KX042-4 incorporates a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) to ensure a clean exhaust and Kubota’s ECO Plus Mode to reduce fuel consumption. The Common Rail System (CRS) electronically controls the fuel injection timing and amount in stages rather than all at once, for optimal combustion. This results in greater efficiency, better fuel economy and less engine noise.

Kubota’s high levels of performance match the environmental advantages of the new machine. Certain features of the KX042-4 such as the AUX oil flow with proportional flow control, auto idling, auto-shift and float position, provide the machine with the power and versatility to handle tough jobs with ease and efficiency.

Also being exhibited was the recently launched KX080-4a, an enhanced version of the popular KX080-4, which utilises the latest technological advancements and can feature an optional 2-piece boom to offer expanded working range.

Adrian Mann, Product Manager – Construction at Kubota UK stated: “Plantworx is set to be a fantastic event for Kubota and we’re thrilled to be unveiling the KX042-4, the most eco-friendly mini-excavator on the market in its category, highlighting both the performance of the machine and the environmental advantages it offers.
“At Kubota, we take pride in our innovation, leading the way in the industry and the KX042-4 is further proof of this. The new excavators being introduced to the UK market this year have huge potential and the KX machines show how Kubota is able to launch enhanced versions of already popular machines, offering great value to building contractors, plant hire firms and owner operators alike.”

Kubota has also been exhibiting a range of its recently released R series wheel loaders, with all machines boasting a full-suspension seat, multi-function operating lever and tilt steering, to provide the user with greater ease of operation and high levels of comfort.
From an engines perspective, Kubota has unveiled a new product on stand, the V3800 BG diesel engine, which now comes with a powerpack. Among other engines on stand were the D1803 CRT and the WG2503 dual fuel engine.
